The program explores themes central to Kashmiri music: narrative storytelling in Chakri, the inspiration of nature, satirical social commentary in Ladishah, expressions of cultural identity, the emotions of love and separation, and the mysticism of Sufiana Kalam.

Aspiring and seasoned songwriters, lyricists, poets with a musical ear, and anyone passionate about expressing themselves through song are welcome!

What will we be doing?

You'll be exploring the rich themes of Kashmiri music and creatively adding your own original verses to selected existing songs, while maintaining the original's spirit and style.

The primary language of instruction will be English.

Will there be daily showcases?

Yes! You'll have the opportunity to perform your newly crafted verses on a daily basis, sharing your creative interpretations.

Who will be our instructors?

We've invited experienced songwriters, lyricists, musicians with a deep understanding of Kashmiri music, and vocal coaches to guide you through the bootcamp. Their profiles will be shared on our website & social media closer to the date.

Do I need to have prior songwriting experience?

While some experience might be helpful, the bootcamp is designed for individuals with a passion for music and a desire to express themselves lyrically, regardless of their prior experience level.

Do I need to be able to sing or play an instrument?

While there will be opportunities to perform, the core focus is on songwriting and lyrical creation. Musical accompaniment is optional for the competition. However, bringing your instrument for personal practice and potential collaboration is encouraged.

Will we receive feedback on our songwriting?

Absolutely! Instructors will provide constructive feedback on your original verses and performance during the bootcamp.
